The perfect job is changing and this is going to affect members of the department of labor, shand ow millions of people quitting their jobs. All of a sudden it seemed like everyone I know was changing jobs or stepping off the career ladder are you gonna graduate with any debt. I’m on student loans right now, so I’ll graduate with a lot of debt how much debt 120.

My name’s Justin, I’m 26 and I’m a medical student being a medical student what is your net worth negative 250 000. There are a lot of reasons why your perfect job isn’t what you think it is 12 years ago. I thought the perfect job in the world was becoming a doctor. I put medicine on such a high pedestal and thought it along with other jobs like becoming a lawyer, a programmer. All those make your immigrant parents proud jobs. But since then the data has over and over proven that you don’t want these jobs unless you’re really really passionate about them. Even medical students and doctors will tell you it’s not worth the money.
There’s a certain safety net with claiming you want to do one of those jobs as your career especially when you’re in school. It removes a lot of the unknown which is exactly why I was so proud to tell people that I was pre-med while at Ucla. But, while the answer on the surface was clear inside I had zero desire to go into medicine and every desire to figure things out on my own and start my own businesses but yeah that stuff is scary and in the unknown. That’s why we naturally avoid putting that out there I think a big part of me too was like I want people to know, I’m going to be successful. If I say I’m going to be a doctor they’ll know that one I’ll have a six-figure job and two I’m in a respectable position if I tell them that I want to let’s say work for myself. They’ll assume Charlie isn’t going to make it and he’s going to be an entrepreneur while scraping by for 20 years so that’s just my personal experience and why i’m so invested in this whole. There’s so many perfect jobs out there for you that you haven’t heard of mindset. I’ll say that again right there are so many perfect jobs out there for you that you haven’t heard of or even considered and a big reason for that is because a lot of the times. We think those jobs are only for those special few.
There’s no way that I’m going to be able to do that myself. But the good news is that you can because we are living in a time where pretty much anything is possible in terms of employment. Today we are seeing a shift from these traditional jobs that take years and years of school and hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt to more service-based jobs that require high-value skills that you can learn from the comfort of your own home now.
So, going back to why I think these service-based businesses are so good I chalk it up to a math equation think of your future payments and divide it by time spent in school and years. You’re paying debt this gives you a number let’s take any high-paying career that takes four years of college four years of grad school. Then let’s say two years of training so for this example. Let’s say becoming a dentist let’s say you begin making money at age 30 and make an average of 250 000 a year for 35 years doing the math that is 8.75 million dollars divide that by 10 years of school and four years to repay your debts and we have 625 000. Now, this is just a number with no real Unitsm so math nerds don’t come after me next we have a copywriter who began learning at age 18 online for free and began taking on paid clients at age 19. Let’s say they make an average of 150 000 for 46 years or 6.9 million dollars divide that by one year of school plus zero years of debt. We have 6.9 million again this formula is not supposed to come up with an actual meaningful number.
So that we can sort of comparing the two jobs. As you can see our number that’s supposed to symbolize salary ROI is over 10 times higher in the latter job. It just shows that when you can make great money spending fewer years and money in school you’re able to get into the workforce earlier invest earlier and just overall become wealthier plus a lot of these skill-based jobs can be turned into full-on agencies with employees meaning you can make significantly more than 150 000 per year. It seems like self-employed people are just overall happier according to a fresh book survey in 2021. 95% of self-employed Americans plan to stay self-employed for the foreseeable future and in 2021 more than 47 million Americans would quit their jobs.

According to the bureau of labor statistics which is the most resignations on record not only, people quit. But they actually liked it with nearly two-thirds agreeing that self-employment is the best career choice in uncertain times such as a pandemic. the data shows that almost 80 percent are happier with their careers and 70 say that they have much more career control versus when they had more traditional jobs school tuition are rising too meaning that. The cost to acquire college-based skills is eating into graduates’ wallets in 1980 the price to attend a four-year college full-time was 10 231 dollars annually. But by 2020 the total price increased to 28 775 dollars which was a 180 increase.
